/ˈwʊlˌgæðərɪŋ/ [wool-gath-er-ing]

  1. indulgence in idle fancies and in daydreaming; absentmindedness: His woolgathering was a handicap in school.
  2. gathering of the tufts of wool shed by sheep and caught on bushes.
